The KU men picked up a hard-fought, heart-racing, first-round NCAA Tournament win over Samford on Thursday night, and the Kansas women's basketball team will try to follow suit on Saturday afternoon.

Back in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2022, the KU women are the No. 8 seed in their region and they'll face No. 9 seed Michigan at 1 p.m. central Saturday on top-seeded USC's campus.

The Jayhawks left for L.A. on Thursday afternoon and a few of them shared their thoughts and emotions with R1S1 Sports on their way out of town.

Keep an eye out for our "Postcards from the Road" feature that will chronicle this team's trip through the eyes of senior Ryan Cobbins.
