Notes and numbers from Tuesday's 61-56 hoops loss by No. 21 Kansas to No. 5 UConn at Allen Fieldhouse.

The loss dropped Kansas to 6-3 on the season and snapped KU's three-game winning streak, with all three losses coming against programs currently ranked in the Top 16 of the AP Top 25 poll.

UConn improved to 7-1 with the victory.

The Jayhawks will have a few days off to regroup before jumping back into action on Sunday, when they will play Border War rival Missouri at T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Mo. Tipoff for that one is slated for noon on ESPN2.

TEAM NOTES

• Kansas held UConn to their lowest scoring half of the season, and lowest scoring game of the season with.

• The last time Kansas lost giving up 61 or fewer points was against Villanova on December 21st, 2019, where the Jayhawks lost 56-55.

• The last time Kansas lost in Allen Fieldhouse giving up 61 or fewer points was on January 5th, 2013 against San Diego State, where the Jayhawks lost 61-57.

• UConn’s 13 turnovers tied for the most by an opponent this season, tying Princeton on November 16th, 2025.

INDIVIDUAL NOTES

• Senior Tre White grabbed seven rebounds, and has now grabbed five or more rebounds in seven consecutive games, and 64th time in his career. White tied a career high with two blocks, and has now recorded two blocks in five career games. White went 6-6 from the charity stripe for the third consecutive game, and finished the contest with eight points on 1-3 shooting from the field. He has made 19 consecutive free throws.

• Sophomore Flory Bidunga finished the game with 11 points on 4-9 shooting from the field, marking his seventh consecutive game with 10 or more points, and 13th time in his career. Bidunga recorded his third double-double of the season, and fifth of his career.

• Bidunga grabbed a season- and team-high five offensive rebounds, and finished the game with 12 total rebounds. This marks the third time this season Bidunga has grabbed 10 or more rebounds, and seventh time in his career. Bidunga recorded two blocks, and has recorded two or more blocks in fourconsecutive games, and 20th time in his career.

• Senior Melvin Council Jr. scored 12 points, and has now recorded 10 or more points in five-consecutive games, and 62 times in his career. Council tied a season high with two steals, and has now recorded two or more steals in 34 career games. With Council’s three assists, he has now recorded 54 career games with three or more assists.

• Redshirt-sophomore Jamari McDowell finished the game with eight points, and has now recorded four-consecutive games with five or more points. McDowell went 2-5 from beyond the arc, and has now recorded three-consecutive games with two or more three pointers made.

• Redshirt-sophomore Elmarko Jackson scored 11 points and went 4-9 from the field, marking the first time in his career where he’s scored in double figures in back-to-back games. Jackson went 2-5 from the three-point line and has now recorded back-to-back games with two or more three pointers made. Jackson has a combined 28 points between the last two games. That is the most points in two consecutive games in Jackson’s career.
