• Moved Kansas to 613-686-58 all-time, including 24-28 in the Lance Leipold era.
• Leipold’s career record improved to 170-67 overall.
• Kansas now has the series advantage over Wagner in the first meeting between the two teams.
• Kansas is 2-0 for the third time in the last four seasons. Prior to Leipold’s arrival in 2021, Kansas had not started a season 2-0 since 2011.
• Kansas is now 8-4 in games played in August all-time, including 2-0 in 2025. It’s the first time in program history with two wins in the month of August.
• Kansas is 15-6 at home since the start of the 2022 season and 16-11 overall under head coach Lance Leipold.

• Kansas’ defense has allowed just 14 points through the first two games of the season, which are the fewest through the first two games since 2009.
• Kansas’ defense has allowed just 90 rushing yards through the first two games, which is the fewest rushing yards allowed through the first two games of the season since 2009 (78) and its the third fewest allowed since 1996.
• Kansas had 88 players see the field on Friday, including 11 players with receptions and 8 players recording a carry. It marks the second-straight game with 10 or more players recording a catch.
Offensive Notes
• Kansas scored first on a 4-yard touchdown pass from Jalon Daniels to DeShawn Hanika in the first quarter, marking Hanika’s first-career touchdown as a Jayhawk and his fifth of his career. It was Hanika’s first touchdown since Nov. 26, 2022 while at Iowa State.
• The Jayhawks scored their second touchdown of the day on a 9-yard touchdown pass from Daniels to senior Emmanuel Henderson, marking Daniels’ 50th career passing touchdown and Henderson’s first receiving touchdown.
• Henderson would later get his second touchdown of the day on a 62-yard strike from Daniels. The 62-yard touchdown pass was the longest since a 70- yard touchdown pass from Daniels to Luke Grimm vs. Iowa State in 2024.
• Henderson’s six receptions for 130 yards and two touchdowns marked career-highs, topping his previous career-high of three receptions vs. Fresno State on Aug. 23, 2025 and 75 yards vs. Vanderbilt, while at Alabama, on Oct. 5, 2024.
• Henderson’s 130 receiving yards marked the first 100-yard receiving game by a Kansas wide receiver and the first since Quentin Skinner’s 135 receiving yards vs. Iowa State in 2024.
• In the second quarter, Daniels hit redshirt junior Cam Pickett for a 20-yard touchdown pass, marking Pickett’s’ third of the season and second-straight game with a touchdown for the first time in his career.
• Daniels finished 18-of-25 for 280 yards and four touchdowns, marking his ninth-career game with three or more touchdowns. His seven touchdowns through the first two weeks are the most over the first two games of his career. It also marked Daniels’ third-career game with at least four touchdown passes and his first since Dec. 28, 2022 in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl vs. Arkansas.
• Daniels’ 7 passing touchdowns through two games are the most by a Kansas quarterback since at least 1996.
• Kansas converted a 2-point conversion in the second quarter on a direct snap to Carson Bruhn, marking Bruhn’s first-career points. Kansas did not attempt a 2-point conversion during the 2024 season. It was Kansas’ first two-point conversion since the 2022 AutoZone Liberty Bowl.
• Daniel Hishaw Jr. had a 20-yard rushing touchdown in the second quarter. The touchdown was his first of the season and the 19th touchdown of his career.
• In the third quarter, redshirt senior Leyton Cure recorded his first-career reception on a 10-yard pass from redshirt sophomore Cole Ballard.
• Redshirt freshman Harry Stewart III recorded a career-high in rushing yards of 33 yards on six carries. Stewart’s fourth quarter touchdown was his first touchdown of his career.
• Redshirt senior Bryson Canty recorded his first receptions as a Jayhawk, and had two catches for 42 yards. Canty has 110 receptions for 1,703 yards and 17 touchdowns for his career.
• Redshirt freshman Carson Bruhn earned his first-career start at tight end.
Defensive Notes
• Redshirt sophomore linebacker Logan Brantley recorded a career-high four tackles to go along with 1.0 tackles-for-loss. Brantley made his first career tackles and an assisted tackle-for-loss vs. Fresno State on Aug. 23, 2025.
• Redshirt senior defensive tackle DJ Withers recorded 2.0 sacks on Friday night, marking his fourth and fifth sacks of his career. It also marked Withers’ second career game with 2.0 sacks, with the last coming vs. Houston in 2024.
• Redshirt junior Trey Lathan recorded 2.5 tackles-for-loss, marking his most tackles-for-loss as a Jayhawk and most since having 3.0 tackles-for-loss at Pitt on Sept. 14, 2024, while at West Virginia.
• Sophomore defensive end Leroy Harris III recorded his second-career sack and second in as many games.
• Redshirt freshman Jon Jon Kamara made his first-career start at linebacker. Kamara has played in six career games, including the first two of the 2025 season.
Special Teams Notes
• Freshman Tate Nagy’s six punt returns were the most punt returns in a game in the Lance Leipold era, since 2021. The previous was three returns set three times with the most recent by Keaton Kubecka, also in tonight’s game against Wagner. Nagy’s 44 punt return yards are the second most in the Leipold era trailing Trevor Wilson’s 82 yards against UCF (10/7/2023).
• Redshirt senior Grayden Addison recorded his first career punts, punting three times for 129 yards.
• Redshirt senior Laith Marjan improved to 2-of-2 on field goals this season, converting on a 27-yard field goal in the third quarter. Marjan improves to 18- of-19 on field goals over his career.
