Columbia, Missouri — The Kansas football team suffered its first loss of the 2025 season, falling to bitter rival Missouri, 42-31, in a back-and-forth battle at Faurot Field.

Kansas trailed 6-0, blocked an extra point and then ripped off 21 straight points, before letting Missouri claw back to even, heading into halftime tied at 21.

The Jayhawks' defense was on the field for nearly twice as long as the Tigers' D, with the Missouri offense running 86 plays and holding the ball for 40:27, while KU ran just 48 plays and held the ball for 19:33.

In addition, KU was outgained in total offense, 595-254, including 261-31 in yards on the ground.
