The Kansas Jayhawks fell to in-state rival Kansas State, 42-17, on Saturday at David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium, in a game that started great and then went south for the final 58 minutes.

The loss dropped the Jayhawks to 4-4 overall and 2-3 in Big 12 play, while also extending their losing streak to the Wildcats to 17 consecutive games.

Next up, KU will play host to Oklahoma State at The Booth on Nov. 1 for Homecoming.

The Jayhawks were understandably down after Saturday's setback on a wet and rainy day, but they pledged to let it hurt for the next 24 hours before getting back to work on Monday.

KU's remaining schedule after OSU includes road games at Iowa State and Arizona and a home game against Utah in the regular-season finale.
